Pets

Human life is unthinkable without pets. Animals are loyal companions, enrich everyday life with their liveliness, own character and beauty of figure and movement. Art has never been able to escape this theme! At www.meisterdrucke.com you will discover cute kittens playing with each other, running dogs and a watchful St. Bernard, whose posture and attentive gaze express concentration and tension in equal measure.

Painters of past centuries were not the only ones to express admiration for this subject. In her paintings "Holly" and "Naked Dog" from 2006 and 2009, Sally Muir proves that animals can be translated vividly into modern imagery against a brightly colored background. In contrast, "A Poodle" by Henriëtte Ronner Knip focuses on the cute appearance of the little dog, which is reminiscent of a ball of wool. Like a statue, the little animal sits on a noble, dark red blanket, which hints at the high-class ambience. Animals have always been status symbols. "Misse and Turlu" are two of the king's greyhounds, which Jean Baptiste Oudry has embedded as noble animals in equally noble surroundings. The background, decorated with a magnificent vase, expresses grandeur and a sense of style, as do the magnificent flowers and the view of an otherworldly landscape.

Adolf Eberle, on the other hand, transports the viewer to a simple, rural abode. Here animals and humans live side by side. The idyll of dogs, cattle and people is expressed in a harmonious color palette. "Contentment" is therefore not only the title, but also general evidence of the coexistence of humans and animals.
But not only happy and chasing dogs characterize the picture scene! Cats, with their grace and wilfulness, have always been popular subjects. From Rosa Bonheur to Julius Adam to Vittore Carpaccio, the liveliness of these animals inspires.
