They kiss and look as if they have forgotten the world around them. The man's red coat and the woman's light blue skirt stand out in stark contrast to the other colors used in the picture and draw the eye. As a result, at first only the lovers are perceived and the richness of detail of the surrounding landscape only becomes apparent on closer inspection. To the left of the pair of lovers, a pointed deciduous tree juts out into the sky and makes the couple look small and innocent. Sunflowers grow to the right of the pair of lovers, as well as other flowers with white and red flowers. The lovers are sitting on a hill, which is overgrown with shrubs and small bushes. However, there are also bald spots where the yellow-brown earth in bright color comes to light.

If the viewer lets his eyes wander, the perfectly painted depth of the picture becomes clear. A turquoise river meanders through the middle of the picture and disappears behind a bend in the mountains. The river is surrounded by hills and mountains at different heights. They are overgrown with shrubs and trees in rich green tones. On a hill to the right behind the lovers grows a distinctive bushy and flat deciduous tree. The mountains in the background of the picture are faintly visible in the distance. They blur with the clear and happy sky. The sky is decorated in bright blue and yellow tones and gives the picture heat.
