Edgar Degas was fascinated by ballerinas. A total of 200 of his works show different scenes of the life of a ballerina, only a few of them dancing on stage. Waiting is one of those pictures. It is impressive how much Edgar Degas could express with such a simple scene. The contrast between the two women is fascinating. One woman wears completely black street clothes and reflects a simple life, while next to her the lightly dressed ballerina in her white dress looks very graceful. But despite this intense contrast, these women are so connected: both young women, who are waiting bored and exhausted. The black bracelets of the ballerina and the white skin of the black-clad woman make Edgar Darges want to say that, despite the differences, these women have something in common. Because in the end, we are all the same.

The art print is perfect as always. I did not expect anything else, after all, this is the 4th order from them.
(Machine translation) Original comment: Der Kunstdruck ist wie immer perfekt. Ich habe mir auch gar nichts anderes erwartet, ist dies immerhin die 4. Bestellung bei ihnen. |
