Entschwebung (The Blind II) is a double self-portrait by the Austrian artist Egon Schiele. In 1915, Schiele painted the painting depicting the moment of dying. You can see it in two stages: Through the eyes wide open you can see that the lower figure in the first stadium is still alive and stands on the ground with both bees. The second figure, however, has the songs only half open, a greenish complexion and is already floating there. The picture symbolizes the transience of the human being and focuses on the moment when man releases himself from earthly existence and escapes to death. Currently the painting is in the Leopold Museum in Vienna.
