In this triptych, the artist applied her method of groping abstraction to a natural form that reaches the limit of what can no longer be depicted much faster: trees. She examined the principles of form that formed her, in her own words her “tree grammar”, in order to track down the laws of nature that make trees, like other forms of nature, look exactly the same and not different, and set these principles the laws of aesthetics opposite in order to create a field of tension that shows to what extent both are conditional and complementary.
