In 1713, the artist Sebastiano Ricci painted the painting "The Triumph of the Sea Venus" depicting the mythological goddess Venus born in the sea. The painting shows her sitting on a throne being pulled by muscular men. The goddess is surrounded by her entourage, her son Cupid flies next to her while grabbing a handful of coral. The corals are on a plate, which is held by a guard. Above Venus is a woman who looks into the void and holds a pearl necklace in her right hand. The pearls fall through the hair of the goddess on her shoulder. Pearls are typical of Venus. The picture is dominated by cool colors like the blue of the sea, but also the white skin of the goddess Venus.

I ordered it a bit too small, but even in this size the picture is a feast for my eyes.
