In comparison to the two following pictures, this composition has one thing in common: a central river in the foreground with a wide left-hand bend to the rear. The striking difference to the two other works mentioned lies in the design of the landscape, which here shows a typical summer scene. The meadow with tall June grasses is interspersed with numerous multicolored spots. This effect further loosens up the color composition of the painting and lends it a transparent and airy quality. Various energy systems, such as the river as the dominant element, must be harmoniously arranged and harmonized with the transparent areas and a uniformly designed sky on the canvas in this depiction. Instead of different energy systems, one can also speak of different aesthetic concepts that compete with each other in the picture, but merge in their mutual effect into a common strength. The intention was to paint an idyllic scene, although it is clear that there are countless interpretations of idylls. Perhaps someone can also see this painting as a warning that we must preserve our idyllic world. Another intention could be that the picture offers the opportunity to revive faded memories of earlier experiences of nature.
