The picture entitled "Oblique" slightly questions our familiar reality, as it seems unusual in our usual physical world to see water at an oblique angle. Of course, we consider and accept our reality as normal.
This artwork shows in a playful way how we can deal with our perception of reality: If we have difficulties with our view of the world, we could simply stand at an angle to correct the skew.
Just as we could hang this rectangular picture at an angle to correct our perception and bring everything back into balance.
Of course, this is not so easy with many of life's complexities, but the picture can at least encourage us to reflect on our view of reality.
The original is an oil painting on canvas from 2020 measuring 30 x 40 cm and was created in the artist's studio in Berlin-Mitte.
