In many individual steps, our frame makers transform a simple, only three-centimeter-wide real wood strip into a gem that captivates with its vivid gold tone and beautiful shine. The extraordinary effect comes from the interplay of several layers: A chalk base, black poliment, and a hand-applied and carefully rubbed metal leaf coating create the mysterious gold tone, while a final layer of wax provides the soft sheen.
