The great bathing is part of a series of paintings depicting bathing women, painted by artist Paul Cézanne. With each version of the bathers Cézanne went away from traditional methods and so his depiction of paintings became unique and timeless. It was also his motivation to avoid fleeting fads and to give his work a timeless quality, thus paving the way for future artists to ignore current trends and to paint pieces that would apply to all generations. The symmetrical dimensions in his work are extraordinary and with the adaptation of the naked forms to the triangular pattern of the environment the picture is very dynamic. The abstract naked females, which can be seen in the picture, give the painting tension and density.
