If you take a closer look at the topic of land development in Germany, you will see that the amount of land used for housing and transportation has more than doubled in the last 60 years (as of 2018).
In 2014 alone, 69 hectares of new land were designated every single day, unfortunately often at the expense of agriculture or other fertile soils. Converted to the units of soccer pitches, this adds up to around 100.
But what happens to the ecologically valuable land that is used up
In this country, they are used as building land and roads or railroad lines.
Roads criss-cross the countries of the world like a network. They guarantee our mobility and the associated flow of capital, as many of us want.
The swinging roads in this picture call into question whether every road project was or is sensible.
The picture can also be extended to the question of how we deal with ecologically valuable areas and how compatible we are with land use.
According to a study, 75 of all flying insects actually disappeared between 1990 and 2017.
So is the word 'roadkill' not so wrong
The original painting entitled 'Straßenverkehrt' is an oil painting on canvas from 2018.
The size of the original is 50 x 40 cm.
Thanks to professional digitization, a metre-sized print can also be produced without any loss of quality.
The original was created in the artist's studio in Berlin-Mitte.
The oil painting is recommended here as a high-quality art print for your special and individual interior design.
